By Owen M. and Ian S., 4 Coor

We put together the top players by their position. They were the best in 2016.

QB: Tom Brady is one of the top QB’s in the NFL. He was 291/432 with a 28/2 TD to INT ratio. Brady led the Patriots to the #1 seed in the AFC. He passed for 3,554 despite missing 4 games due to suspension. Another great QB is Aaron Rodgers who had one of his best seasons in his career. He had 610 pass attempts and made an amazing 401! He had 40 TDs! That is a first in the NFL. The Packers clinched their division with a spectacular Week 17 victory over Detroit.

RB: Ezekiel Elliott had an amazing season for a rookie. Zeke had 1,631 rushing yards and his rushing average is 5 yards per run. He also had 15 touchdowns! Le’veon Bell had one of his best seasons as well with 7 touchdowns and 1,268 rushing yards. But he missed 3 games for a suspension.

WR: Antonio Brown locked up a division title for Pittsburgh with a reach over LB Ray Lewis for a TD in a Week 16 victory over the Ravens with seconds left. That was one of his many 2016 highlights. His 106 receptions are only behind Larry Fitzgerald, with 107. Brown is a great downfield threat and averages 12.1 yards per catch. Odell Beckham Jr. was famed for the “Odell” catch against the Cowboys on Nov. 23, 2015. Odell had a great season. He had 1,367 yards receiving and had 20 20+ yard gains.

TE: Rob Gronkowski is one of the best tight ends in NFL history, but sadly this amazing player got injured and missed 5 games due to a herniated disk. Gronk got 540 yards and 3 touchdowns, but that was good considering he missed part of the season. Travis Kelce is our 2nd nominee for tight ends. He had 1,125 receiving yards and 0 fumbles! But Kelce is underestimated and scored only 4 tds.

C: Travis Frederick was amazing. His team`s running back, Ezekiel Elliott did well mostly because of him. Also, QB Dak Prescott was rarely ever sacked.

OG: Zach Martin anchored the Cowboys O-line. He allowed Ezekiel Elliott to get to the outside and make big runs. In his 3 seasons he has been a pro bowler every single one.

OT: Trent Williams is the best Tackle in the league. He, unlike most tackles is very mobile and that is why he is on our list. Unfortunately he was suspended for four games to start the season.

DT: Ndamukong Suh is a great defensive tackle. He had 5 sacks this season to help his team, the Dolphins, make their first playoff appearance since 2008. He also had a fumble recovery. The Miami defense really stepped up because of him! The Rams Defense stepped up because of Aaron Donald. He had 8.0 sacks and 47 total tackles. He also had 2 forced fumbles. One of the greatest coaches of all time, Bill Belichick, praised Donald saying “I’d say [Aaron] Donald is one of the most disruptive players in the league”

DE: Khalil Mack was amazing. 70 tackles are a lot, but not for Mack. He registered 76 total tackles in the regular season! He also had 11.0 sacks! Jadeveon Clowney is a beast! He is on the Texans, which has the #1 total defense in the NFL. They used him up the middle because he is too fast for a center to handle.

OLB: Von Miller is the one best linebackers in NFL history with an amazing 13.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. Von Miller was the main reason the Broncos won Super Bowl 50. Vic Beasley Jr. is considered one of the best linebackers in the NFL with 15.5 sacks and 21 yards in INT return. Vic helped the Falcons get to Super bowl 51.

MLB: Luke Kuechly is great. He has 2 sacks and 1 INT. He has 104 tackles! He has 6 passes defended. Bobby Wagner is also amazing. He has 4.5 sacks and 167 tackles. He is perfect for the Seattle defense.

CB: Richard Sherman is lockdown. He is the best player in the Seattle secondary. He is good at knocking into people to avoid them catching the ball. He had 4 INT with 13 pass defended. Josh Norman is also very good. He had 19 passes defended! He also had 3 INT.

FS: Devin McCourty is a great Free Safety. He is best for the Patriots style of play in which they double-team your best WR. He can lockdown WRs such as Antonio Brown and Doug Baldwin. He has 83 combined tackles. Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix has helped a struggling Packers Secondary all year. He has had 80 tackles and 5 INT. He is one of the fastest FSs with a 40-yard dash time of 4.48 seconds.

SS: Kam Chancellor is very good. SSs,unlike FSs, are for tackling. Chancellor is very good at that. He had 85 tackles! Eric Berry is amazing. He is very athletic for a SS with a 40-yard Dash time of 4.48 seconds and a long jump of 10 ft.,10 in. He had 4 INT.

K: Justin Tucker is great. His kicking percentage is 97.4. His longest FG is 57-yards.

KR: Tyreek Hill is better at kick return than WR. He has 384 return yards and averages 27.4 per return. He once returned a kick 86 yards for a TD.

P: Pat McAfee is great. He averages 49.3 yards per punt. His long is 74 yards.

PR: Cordarrelle Patterson is very fast. He has 792 yards returning. He once returned a kick 104 yards for a TD!
